Words by Steve Edwards
With sagely insight, Nu Zillun’s foremost Infallible Expert on Everything, prime minister John Key, opined that protesters who demonstrated in nationwide rallies across the South Pacific island nation against the impending Trans-Pacific Partnership on August 15, were “misinformed” and merely a “rent-a-crowd”. [Like many New Zealanders, John Key mashes his vowels with his consonants like they’re peas to be lost in mushed potatoes, so that New Zealand becomes Nu Zillun when spokun. – Ed.]
I’m going to climb the lab-engineered Capitalist State Tree and crawl out on its dying limb, Democracy, to explain why Key is one trillion market points correct.
But to comprehend the significance of the bombshell disclosure I’m dropping here, it’s crucial that we are on ‘need-to-know-basis’ terms. This means you-need-to-know my family’s great secret, how I came to know what I know and why I want you to know what I know is dangerous to the world if it remains an ‘unknown known’, so to speak.
My family became incredibly wealthy by outsourcing our aversion to poverty to those that worked hard for us. With investments in land, wool, dairy, timber, mining, construction and puddle-proof boots in a country the size of Great Britain and with only the ‘rebel natives’ to foil the British Empire’s imperial plans in the 1860s when my forebears immigrated, you couldn’t go wrong. Like the British aristocracy, we did it through shell companies, Freemasonry and proxy agents with forgettable faces. Today, my families’ Top 40 investments are vital to the Nu Zillun rock-star economy.
The transformations taking place now in the Free-For-All-Insiders global economy have a long genealogy with so many entwined tentacles that they may one day inspire an epic political thriller called The Octopus. Back in the early 1970s, a group called the Council of 13 invited me to help them reassert control of the world. The Council of 13 had their dapperly dressed puppets enthusiastically working on a secret blueprint blandly called the ‘1980s Project’ at an equally insipidly named global policy-shaping think-tank, the Council on Foreign Relations, headquartered in New York. The ‘1980s Project’ prescribed a new alliance between the greedy and powerful Corporate Octopoda Order of America and Europe to include the Baby Octopoda Order of Japan.
Wisely, the plan wasn’t called something like ‘Project Octopus’ because Laurence Shoup and William Minter revealed part of this plan in their book, The Imperial Brain Trust. Because hardly anyone read the ‘serious stuff’ genre even back then when books were only available in 3D, we knew we were safe. The Council of 13’s directive was to address threats to their hidden rule over the plundered, bombed and under-priced planet, as corny and ‘conspiracy theory’ as that sounds.
The threats faced by these Octopus Capitalists from the North Western Atlantic included the pesky peoples’ movements that had emerged in the valve-tube TV days of the 1960s such as the ‘pigment-focused’ Civil Rights, the ‘peacenik’ Anti-War and the ‘girl’s blousy’ Feminist movements. That was how the ‘1980’s Project’ nerds described them in conversations. The ‘whining’ developmental demands of the perpetually Last Place Third World countries, that sought to gain western technology as a ‘fair trade’ for supplying resources ‘gained fair and square through conquest, coercion and corruption’, were also viewed as dangerous. The ‘1980s Project’ sought to hinder the efforts of these ‘disobedients’ through the financial discipline of cunningly re-regulated ‘free markets’.
My contribution was to plan the deployment of ‘free market economic shock treatments’ to the Nu Zillun economy. Coming from a country with a population of ‘sissy conformists’, as our telephone surveys found, I envisaged that the tiny South Pacific Realm of the British Empire would capitulate to corporate raiders straight after an election with pre-scripted scary news of an engineered financial crisis, without mentioning the engineered bit. This scheming started at a time when the United States was ‘losing’ the American War on Vietnam in 1971.
We considered it vital to what is really a Global Neo-Colonial Project that apathy would become widespread worldwide. To this end, we deemed it crucial to depoliticize, downplay and dumb-down important issues. We called it ‘2D Optics’ because we realized that if you can ‘control the optics’, especially by faking sincerity through the media, you’ve got it made. Not only did we invent systemic apathy without announcing it on The News, which is a historical syndicated soap written by dark satirists, we also schemed with news and entertainment moguls to consolidate the media industry into corporate cartels that would mass-produce every distraction imaginable under the soon-to-be-privatized sunlight. That’s the real purpose behind wall-to-wall sports coverage, Same ol’ Same ol’ movies and universally re-versioned reality TV junk content. The Octopus Capitalists wanted citizens recast as ‘consumers’ who wouldn’t care anymore about how the world was being run. So, when those ‘Toto the pesky dog moments’, as we called them, revealed “that man behind the curtain” was faking it as a wizard, people cast as consumers would then take the ‘pay no attention’ cues and carry on shopping in an evilly-directed epic pursuit of hollow happiness.
You read dead right. Our objective was to demoralize people by striping their characters’ of ‘annoying’ free-thinking motivations and ‘pesky’ principled behaviours.
We anticipated there would be pesky journalists such as Naomi Klein who identified our global program of economic warfare as ‘the Shock Doctrine’. Klein showed in her book The Shock Doctrine how the Octopus Bankers have been engineering financial and economic crises in order to coerce governments to take emergency loans from the International Monetary Fund. But hobbled governments could only get these emergency loans to stave off widespread social unrest if they sold off public assets. In private, we called it a Debt for Equity Swap. In public, we called it Austerity.
To mitigate this threat of string-free journalists, we took public relations from a cottage industry to a global phenomenon. In doing so, journalists were lured away from newsrooms with more money, ego-stroking access to the Old Boy’s Network and ‘hoes and blow’. Now, the pesky string-less John Pilgers of this dying world can be out-produced by the Octopuses networks and their puppet PR people. As Klein quite rightly said in The Shock Doctrine documentary, “the Shock Doctrine only works if people don’t know about it”.
So, why you may ask, is an insider whistle-blowing on the Octopuses? To answer that, I need to share some more back-story. I became the black sheep of my family by ‘going wild’ when I fell in love with a feminist while on assignment infiltrating left-wing groups in Nu Zillun after my stint on the ‘1980’s Project’. This assignment was the equivalent of the FBI’s seven COINTELPRO – NEW LEFT programs to undermine dissent. During my ‘fall from grace’, ironically with a chick called Grace, I came to see that ‘ordinary people’ are amazing. Their magic is best appreciated up close, away from the set-piece social occasions that dominate the lives of the greedy and infamous.
Adding accelerants to my relations’ firey rage, the entire family was excluded from Nu Zillun’s inner clique, codenamed the ‘Great White Flock’, after they discovered that Grace and I had bred a flock of ‘Disobedients’. This precipitated a crisis among the country’s Twenty Ruling Families, and was the real reason why Nu Zillun’s prime minister Robert Muldoon called a snap-election in mid-June 1984 before a school of reef-fish reporters, while drunk. And that’s why you won’t find the entire Edwards family on the wealth porn Rich List. Among an oligarchy, trust is the hemoglobin that binds bloodlines.
It may surprise you when I say that I was actually going to attend the rally in the largest population center, Auckland City. But I got wind that the stocks, commodities and currencies markets were going to go into meltdown mode the following week, from a few old wealthy friends who quietly empathize with my ‘wild worldviews’. So, I had to scramble to reduce my exposure and right-on cue the global equities markets lost $3.3 trillion in value in a week. The meltdown was reminiscent of the liquidation of the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. It turns out that The Wizard of Oz was an allegory for the American people’s popular struggle to overcome an international banking syndicate that sought to establish a privately-owned central bank through which they could eventually enslave the population with debt.
If that sounds like a nut-bar theory, then ponder the worldwide suppression of systemic banking fraud, whereby credit funds are conjured into existence, marketed as ‘loans’ and the financially-challenged are cast as ‘borrowers’. These ‘borrowers’ include hobbled governments in the make-real world. Central banks and major commercial banks whisk credit out of annoyingly thin-air through the possession of a metaphorical magical wand (or the power of the Octopus Bankers Network to pull unseen levers and press hidden buttons). Or, to put it another way, dynastic banking families and their global banking cartels fool mass suck-lucker populaces into borrowing credit funds into existence while maintaining a Scrooge-scarcity over cash. In other words, I’m talking about that big reveal moment like at the end of The Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy and Friends realize the Wizard is just an old man behind a curtain orchestrating theatrical effects, as journalist Bill Still and Friends make clear in his documentary The Secret of Oz.
To make up for not being able to inflict some damage to Nu Zillun’s Twenty Ruling Families on protest day, I used some spare change to rent-a-crowd across the whole economy. Because it was such short notice, my rent-a-crowd’s numbers weren’t a game-changer for the Twenty Ruling Families’ government. If you are like John Key’s Zombie Faithful Voter Crowd you are doubtless well informed and you ‘don’t do protests’ and so you well know that oligarchs by definition are super-rich people who use their enormous economic wealth to steer the political trajectory of whole societies, as Dr. Jeffrey Winters explains in his 3D book, Oligarchy. You therefore have always known and without needing to read it in a school textbook, that the ‘Invisible Hand’ widely promoted in the 1980s to describe the efficient functioning of ‘free markets’ through price signals was just a euphemism for an unseen oligarchy pulling their puppets’ strings.
Had I been at the Auckland protest, I would have informed the misinformed protesters that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is more than just the architecture for a huge economic bloc between the United States and 11 other Pacific Rim countries, including Nu Zillun.
“The TPP is a mega cartel deal“, I intended to yell into a megaphone.
In the present era of so-called ‘free markets’, vast anti-competitive transnational corporations operate as cartels, rather like The Hutt Cartel led by Jabba the Hutt, as depicted in the Star Wars space opera. The huge monopolizing corporate combinations – that dominate extraction, production, distribution, financing, marketing and information dissemination – undermine bona fide competition by fixing prices, controlling supply, and reducing diversity through mass production of similar soon-to-be obsolete services and trashed products. I could inform my Rent-a-Crowd protesters through Nu Zillun’s inquisitive press that collusion is to monopolies what sucking blood is to a dynasty of vampires, but only if the Twenty Ruling Families lost their heads.
Furthermore, the huge economic protective trade-blocs proposed, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (or TPP), and its Atlantic Ocean fraternal sibling, the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, (or TTIP) and the all-encompassing stealthy sibling, Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA) are really about creating a slickly-marketed, hi-tech inverted totalitarian superstructure, worldwide. Indeed, a rotten corporate totalitarian core thrives inside a fictitious democratic shell and is spreading outward from America, as the string-free American journalist Chris Hedges has stated more generally.
Because oligarch John Key is Nu Zillun’s Infallible Expert on Everything, he well knew that in my absence, my Rent-a-Crowd protesters were misinformed about the full extent of the stealthy strategy to amputate Democracy’s dying limb. This is partly because as prime minister, he has access to the country’s mass surveillance data through the Five Eyes’ suck-it-all agency, the GCSB (or the Government Communications Security Bureau, for long). Indeed, Key claimed that exactly one-third of the TPP protesters were misinformed! This intelligence access goes some way to explaining Key’s frequent sagely insights. It gives the ex-London and Wall Street banker an edge not unlike the Eye of Sauron in Lord of the Rings, or the Illuminati’s All Seeing Eye symbol on the Federal Reserve cartel’s next-to-worthless one dollar bills if they had radio frequency spy chips embedded in them to track your every move.
If there were a board game to replace Monopoly, called Oligarchy, Key’s modus operandi could be captured in a pick-up card from the ‘Opportunity in Crisis’ stack that may read:
“Now that you wear the political leader’s hat you need to know that sharing isn’t all bad. Your creed is, ‘A problem shared is a problem halved’. This means you can now export more economic and political power to a stealthy emergent global government run by the Octopoda World Order. The Council of 13 are suited to the task to control an Invisible Empire, because they are impeccably dressed, have awesome propaganda and they are totally trustworthy since they have collectivized a vast military apparatus, do business with tax havens and out-source problems like poverty to jurisdictions of their choosing.”
To their credit, the TPP protesters sensed that the Trans-Pacific Partnership is set to consolidate the power of transnational corporations. The unseen Council of 13 plots behind a purple curtain so vast it obscures these dynastic rulers from view. Because amazing people, now cast as consumers, can’t see the purple curtain’s edges, they are unable to even ‘take-a-peek’ behind it, despite glimpsing it everyday and looking the other way like sheep pretending not to notice the farmer’s dog.
The Octopuses of the Octopoda World Order are the biggest sissies you’ll most probably never meet. Worse still, once you comprehend the grand scale of the spectacle overlaid into the make-real world, you can’t help but notice how bad the acting is. And worser, you’ll be torn between sighing and sniggering about how gullible and dumbed-down the Zombie news audiences are not to notice the bad acting, the B-Grade scripts and the strings attached to creepy scheming tentacles. And worser than worser, you will catch yourself saying, as I have ever since the movie Sixth Sense, when watching The News: “I see puppet people”.
By day, Steve Edwards edits news at a television station in the New Zealand economy and by night he transmogrifies into Snoopman, the editor-in-chief at Snoopman News. In his thesis, “It’s the financial oligarchy, stupid” that investigated the Global Financial Crisis and bank bailouts of 2007 and 2008, he traced the strategy of an Anglo-American oligarchy to engineer economic and financial crises in order to gain the submission of governments around the world to the ‘free market’ economic framework. He is not related to anyone on New Zealand’s rich list.

Grand Chessboard: A Game the Whole Brzezinski family can play! MSNBC TV news anchor plays her ‘Go to Ukraine’ Card.
When MSNBC TV news anchor Mika Brzezinski attempted to cross to the Ukraine on Monday March 24, she was blocked by her male co-host and she became visibly irritated. Social commentary website, Upworthy, posted the video clip as an example of men bullying women. But, is Brzezinski’s appeal to cover “the facts” genuine? Snoopman sketches the career backgrounds of Mika Brzezinski’s father, Zbigniew, and her brother, Mark, and he reveals the MSNBC news host is not as neutral as she makes out.
Daughter of One of the World’s Leading Psychopaths Bullied as She Tries to Anchor ‘the News’ with ‘Facts’ on Major US Network
By Snoopman, 1 April 2014
MSNBC TV news anchor Mika Brzezinski tried live-on-air to cross to coverage in the Ukraine, but was blocked by her condescending male co-host on Monday March 24. The rude co-host of MSNBC‘s “Morning Joe” news program, Joe Scarborough, wanted to keep going with a discussion about the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370.
Visibly irritated, Brzezinski blurted that they needed to cover “the facts”, rather than “theories” about what happened to the missing Malaysian Airlines’ plane, which she regarded as a cheap way to gain high viewer ratings.
Since the testy on-air exchange took place, the social commentary website, Upworthy, has spread the video clip, arguing it is another example of males bullying females. In the clip, Brzezinski seems to take ‘the news’ seriously. But, is there more to it than that?
Who is Mika Brzezinski?
In the scheme of things, the disappearance of Flight 370 has been a huge distraction from ‘big picture’ news. So, Mika Brzezinski should be commended for wanting to ‘go to Ukraine’, right?
Well, recall that Russell Brand showed Mika Brzezinski and her colleagues up for being rude, frivolous eggs when he appeared on MSNBC in mid-2013. So, why is Mika Brzezinski so passionate about covering the Ukraine? To understand that, we sketch her father’s work biography and her brother’s connection to a now-defunct think-tank that needs to be a household name: The Project for a New American Century.
Brzezinski was born in New York City, AKA Gotham, the daughter of Polish-born foreign policy expert and former US National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski; himself the son of a displaced aristocratic Pole (according to Peter Dale Scott in his book, Road to 9/11). Mika’s father wrote a book called The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy And It’s Geostrategic Imperatives (1997), in which he argued that regional powers needed to be countered so that none became a world power that could challenge the United States of America. This includes Russia and China; two regional powers on the Eurasian landmass that the US-led NATO has been rapidly encircling since 9/11 (as Eugene Jarecki shows in his documentary, Why We Fight).
Zbigniew wrote in The Grand Chessboard that because the US was a more multi-cultural popular democracy than it had been at the time of the Japanese Empire’s attack on Pearl Harbor, it had become more “difficult to fashion a consensus on foreign policy issues, except in the circumstance of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat.” (p. 211). By ‘consensus’, Mika’s father was talking about the projection of US military power without its government losing legitimacy to rule.
Furthermore, Zbigniew is a long-time associate of another former US National Security Advisor, Henry Kissinger, who supported the CIA-backed coup of Chile on September 11 1973. Both are life-long friends of David Rockefeller Sr., a key American oligarch at the centre of a blueprint to transform the world called the “1980s Project”, as Laurence Shoup and William Minter argued its purpose was in their book, Imperial Brain Trust. This project, first formulated between 1971-1973 at a New York-based think-tank, the Council on Foreign Relations, planned the spread of ‘free markets’ through the application of a ‘Shock Doctrine’.
As free-thinking journalist Naomi Klein shows in her meticulously researched book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, highly networked key insiders across the state-corporate-academic-think-tank nexus coerce governments through financial, economic and military warfare, to force them to submit to the rule of what has been identified as a Transnational Capitalist Class. Armies of corporate professionals, sponsored politicians and elite technocrats are working on what is essentially a global neo-colonial project (AKA globalization), which is an economic war framework directed by the super-rich. A corporatized totalitarianism is driving the construction of a worldwide technocratic system, as Snoopman News reported in an article called, Code Purple: Whistle Blowing on ‘Free markets’, the ‘Shock Doctrine’ and ‘New Constitutionalism’. A technocracy is an economic system that exploits technology as a means of social control through the allocation of energy and resources rather than the market price system of cartelized monopoly capitalism. The construction of this global superstructure was embedded into the “1980’s Project”.
You can bet Mika Brzezinski has not revealed her father’s association with the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, either. Zbigniew endorsed President Carter’s directive to supply arms to the Mujahideen, and train them in terrorism tactics, as a covert strategy to draw the Soviet Union into Afghanistan, and embroil the communist state in a long, un-winnable ‘Vietnam’ type conflict that would make Moscow look bad, and economically weaken the USSR. Indeed, in 1979 Zbigniew gained the confidence of his intended pawns on the Grand Chessboard when he met with Mujahideen ‘freedom-fighters’ and said, with the help of a translator, as he pointed to the hills: “That land over there is yours. You’ll go back to it one day because your fight will prevail and you’ll have your homes and your mosques back again. Because your cause is right and God is on your side”.
In a 1998 interview with French magazine Le Nouvel Observateur, Brzezinski defended his decision to arm and train the Mujahideen in techniques of terrorism saying the significance of , “[s]ome stirred-up Moslems” was inconsequential to “the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war”. Functional psychopaths such as Zbigniew enjoy successful careers, augmenting power and accumulating wealth by gaining the confidence of their intended victims. Zbigniew, like all psychopaths, has no need to admit his criminal responsibility for the genocide he has caused, because of the propagandist role the world’s major media outlets play to support such well-mannered monsters.
The MSNBC news program, Morning Joe hosted a live link with Zbigniew Brzezinski in late February 2014 on the ‘Ukraine issue’. (Snoopman News notes that the Anglo-American dominated Global Media Complex only focus on far-flung places when conflict arises over the Anglo-American Brotherhood’s perceived right to rule the jurisdiction in question). In the biased MSNBC interview, the United States was presumed as ‘good’, and cast Zbigniew Brzezinski as a tolerant paternal figure over the nation through ideological rarefication, whereby Mika was remembered as a misbehaving, but adorable child. (Cue political actor cast in the ideologically-infused role of a ‘nation as person’ hero with expert brain powers). With this ridiculous attempt at repartee between Scarborough and the Brzezinskis before the interview began, it was not surprising then that the line of questioning was focused on what Russia needed to do to behave. In Zbigniew’s worldview, a behaving Russia means helping Ukraine maintain its ‘independence’, so that it could eventually be absorbed by the European Union. Thus, as master propagandists, the personalized vignette of a tolerant father figure to introduce Zbigniew was used to subtly link ‘Morning Joe’s ‘hard to get’ busy guest as a patient patriarch figure of the nation (actually an empire), at that particular Bat Time on that particular Bat Channel.
Where technocrats like Zbigniew lack a ‘gift of the gab’ to pull off being funny in public, the American Brotherhood has relied on presidents to deploy witty lines as a form of ‘crowd control’ (as rapper KRS One worded this form of population indoctrination in the documentary The Obama Deception). By ‘crowd control’, KRS One meant that the mass populace of USA America was tricked into voting for Obama instead of opting for mutiny following the global financial crisis, that was engineered mainly by bankers in Gotham and its fraternal dark twin, the City of London). USA America’s technocrats, such as Zbigniew Brzezinski are masters of propagandist techniques. Zbigniew’s role in the elite and mass media is essentially a ‘mission to persuade’. His rhetoric relies on misinformation, confusion and ignorance. Thus, Zbigniew’s February 2014 MSNBC interview was laced with Orwellian doublethink.
As readers familiar with George Orwell’s dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-four will recall, doublethink is defined as “the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them” (1993 : 223). This brainwashing provides the capacity to dispense with unwelcome truths by forgetting them, yet being able to recall them when convenient and deliberately deceive others while maintaining an inner conviction that the choices are right. Brzezinski is committed to the idea of larger and larger political units being formed out of conflicts, like the three super-states described in Nineteen Eighty-four, because he is in the orbit of the American Rockefeller banking and oil dynasty. Zbigniew Brzezinski has been long-associated with the global policy-shaping groups, such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberg Group, that seek a one-world invisible government endgame (as numerous investigators have found). These investigations include: Daniel Estulin’s The True Story of the Bilderberg Group; James Perloff’s The Shadows of Power; Laurence Shoup and William Minter’s Imperial Brain Trust; William Engdahl’s A Century of War: Anglo-American Oil Politics and the New World Order; Michel Chossudovsky’s The Globalization of Poverty and the New World Order; and Jason Bermas’ Invisible Empire: A New World Order Defined.
Since Zbigniew Brzezinski was purporting to support the idea of a self-governing state, while at the same outlining the goal that Ukraine join the European Union, a much larger political-economic unit, Zbigniew was able to subtly slip his illogical argument into the live-to-air interview, without any of the anchors and guest journalists and (off-screen) producers battering an elite eyelid. Here, Zbigniew proposed the opposing propositions, not because he is stupid. Rather, as a consummate propagandist, he made himself appear to support the idea of an autonomous state on the one hand, in order distract the audience that the other hand was ‘gloved’. This ‘gloved hand’ concealed the objective of having Ukraine absorbed into the Transnational Capitalist Class-controlled European Union, because this would have revealed intentionality. This deception was necessary in order to hide the inherent fascism underpinning the Transnational Capitalist Class’ deep-state operations to destabilize Ukraine, as they have done the world-over, in accordance with the ‘Shock Doctrine’.
Perhaps Joe Scarborough sighed and shut-down his female co-host because he saw her agenda to promote her father’s and the Obama administration’s foreign policy aims. This is not to say that ‘Morning Joe’ and the all male cast of guests were unbiased and had the grace of the Dalai Lama in Hearts. Far from it. Scarborough may have blocked his co-anchor because of the subtext detectable in Mika’s brain. After all, Mika Brzezinski didn’t say, “We need to ‘go to Ukraine’ because Zbigniew Brzezinski. Because father. Because American-Ukrainian Advisory Committee. Because was chairman.” Indeed, Mika’s dad is a key insider of the Transnational Capitalist Class. The American-Ukrainian Advisory Committee is a private group that at one time was headed by key insiders such as Zbigniew Brzezinski, Henry Kissinger, Frank Carlucci, George Soros and Malcolm Forbes. They urged President William Jefferson Clinton to promote Ukrainian energy independence from Russia, in 1994 (following the Wall Street-Washington Complex-engineered break-up of the Soviet Union, in accordance with the ‘Shock Doctrine’ that Naomi Klein reported). The collapse of the Soviet Empire was a gain for the US-dominated Transnational Corporate Empire. Ordinary people bore the brunt of the economic devastation that ensued.
Despite the extraordinary help from a propagandist media system, the 1980s Project that Brzezinski helped ‘captain’ for several decades, needed constant homework. Indeed, the cliche that governments and transnational corporations are solely focused only short term goals like voter popularity and quarterly profits, respectively, shrinks to a myth when we contemplate the picture of Zbigniew Brzezinski & Co. urging Clinton to promote Ukrainian energy independence from Russia, in 1994, (following the break-up of the Soviet Union, engineered by bankers from Gotham City and technocrats from Washington). They did not stop there. Numerous government institutions and oligarch-funded foundations in the United States have supported a strategy to destabilize the Ukrainian government for a number of years, with $5 billion in tax-funding for “democracy building” projects. Among the foundations that provided this support were Freedom House, whose Board of Trustees includes Zbigniew.
Zbigniew’s daughter, Mika, is able to routinely omit key evidence regarding her father’s background of covert operations partly because the American media system is propagandist by design. Because, as one of America’s leading US foreign policy critics, linguist Noam Chomsky has argued, in societies with formal democracy, a propagandist system of communication is required because the state cannot openly intimidate and suppress ‘free’ populations without losing the legitimacy to rule. Therefore, the on-air testiness reveals a vignette into differences of opinion about how to best buttress oligarchic-elite power, whether by distracting the audience with the spectacle of a missing jetliner, or seeking the fabled American peoples’ acquiescence to US intervention in a far-flung place, by drawing the ‘Go to Ukraine’ playing card that Mika had kept close to her chest.
Mika’s brother Mark also has intriguing connections. He is a foreign policy expert and is the US Ambassador to Sweden. He was a member of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC), a now-defunct Washington-based think-tank that argued the United States risked losing its sole super-power status if it was not seen to be fighting two major wars at once. PNAC members called for a ‘revolution in military affairs’, or the reconfiguration of American forces into smaller more mobile units, capable of exploiting new war-fighting technologies. In a paper titled “Rebuilding America’s Defences”, this revolution, wrote the authors in September 2000, would take a long time, “absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor” (p.51). This transformation of the military conformed to the concurrent US military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff doctrine, ‘Full Spectrum Dominance’, that set a goal for the United States to dominate the world, whether on land, sea, air, space and cyberspace, by the year 2020, permanently.
PNAC members included many Washington technocrats that soon became members of President George Walker Bush’s administration: Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Bremmer, and Robert Zoellick. The sub-terrain connections of many PNAC members to what is known as the ‘deep state’, are revealed in a brilliantly researched book, Another Nineteen: Investigating 9/11 Suspects. The term deep state refers to oligarchs, or the rich and super-rich, who use covert means to advance their interests, with the help of a ‘Fraternity’, as Charles Higham called the criminal network from a prior era in his book, Trading with the Enemy: The Nazi-American Money Plot 1933-1949. The author of Another Nineteen , Kevin Ryan, presents a more likely list of top suspects that fit the picture of a far more realistic 9/11 narrative than the ridiculously over-simplified official story. Ryan shows that key insiders, holding top posts in the US state apparatus had the means, motive and histories of deep state activity to organize a coup d’état with key insiders from the US corporate world, along with vital help from the Saudi and Pakistani regimes. Al Qaeda operatives served as the gullible patsies. The immediate cover-up of the terror attacks that began on September 11 2011, together with the official account of 9/11, read like deep state criminal satirists scripted them. Those dark satirists are likely to be Ryan’s 9/11 suspects. When we recall that the CIA-backed Mujahideen was the predecessor to Al Qaeda, we begin to see the traces of a deep state network still at-large.
The deep-state network has a long history. When we recall that Zbigniew mentioned in his book The Grand Chessboard that it had become much harder to gain support for American military interventions abroad than at the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, because ‘the American people’ were more multicultural in composition, we catch a glimpse into how deep state actors think.
Indeed, the operation of a deep state criminal network was behind the plot to antagonize the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor, as Robert Stinnett shows compellingly in his book, Day of Deceit: The Truth about FDR and Pearl Harbor. A secret inner circle around president Roosevelt had conspired with the British and Dutch governments to cut off crucial supplies of oil, steel and aviation lubricants to Japan. This strategy, embarked upon in early 1941 after US military code-breakers successfully deciphered Japanese diplomatic and military encrypted communications in December 1940, was intended to draw the United States into another global war.
Is it really plausible, then, that Washington’s technocratic psychopaths, such as Zbigniew Brzezinski, with decades of top security and political access, don’t know that Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s secret inner circle not only provoked the Imperial Government of Japan to attack Pearl Harbor, but also don’t know that FDR’s plotters were tracking the progress of the Japanese attack fleet with a precision that makes the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 embarrassing? After all, the evil genius Winston Churchill, no less, spells it out in Volume III of his epic series, The Second World War: The Grand Alliance (p.470). (Lest the reader feel we are falsely maligning Winston Churchill’s still favourable reputation, a stature propped up by a first-rate Anglo-American propaganda media system, we point to G. Edward Griffin’s book, The Creature from Jekyll Island; William Engdahl’s books, A Century of War and Gods of Money; and Guido Giacomo Preparata’s book, Conjuring Hitler).
Mika Brzezinski, a Media Sock Muppet with Dark Family Secrets
So, Mika Brzezinski’s day job at MSNBC is about over-simplifying ‘the facts’ of ‘the news’. That is, unless you think it’s plausible that Mika has not read her father’s most well-known book, and has no idea what the psychopathic bullying males in her family get up to.
Indeed, Mika’s father wrote in The Grand Chessboard that part of America’s success, as a hegemonic power, is the domination of its media system over the world. It is this media system that creates a positive image for the United States, through ideologically-infused news stories, frivolous television programs, and propagandist Hollywood movies that sanitize America’s history. As Zbigniew helpfully explains, its this positive image that the United States enjoys (even after a dozen years of the unfinished ‘global war on terror’), that reduces the expense, resources and complications that would otherwise compound if the American-led Transnational Corporate Empire, as we call it at Snoopman News, needed a military presence in every jurisdiction of the world.
So, when MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski says she wants to ‘go to Ukraine’, she’s not talking about covering this big picture issue critically. (Such critical accounts can be read on GlobalResearch.ca, a Canadian news and current affairs website which hosts thousands of free-thinking academic, activist, ex-government, media, and professional writers). Mika is working within a highly sophisticated propaganda media system, or Global Media Complex dominated by just seven transnational media corporations of which six are American based: Time Warner, Disney, NewsCorp, NBC Universal, CBS and Viacom.
Even a television news channel with Russia in it’s name, Russia Today (RT) can air stories with voices in it that are capable of pointing out Russian president Vladimir Putin’s role in genocide, while at the same time recalling the genocide of the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union’s best friend, NATO.
But, not on “Morning Joe”. Therefore, Mika Brzezinski is a media missionary propaganda model working for the Global Media Complex to support the permanent war economy and the construction of a new world technocratic order.
Mika Brzezinski’s ‘earnest’ work is TO BE CONTINUED…

Under the rubric of ‘free market’ globalization, a transnational capitalist class is transforming the world. Snoopman investigates a black-hole that the world’s media missionaries fear to voyage to. Our intrepid editor finds out why and how the world’s key oligarchs, or the super-rich, are directing a covert global neo-colonial project.
Directions for Use: We take the reader on a perilous journey involving time-travel in an effort to understand a black hole unexplored by the world’s major news outlets. Its dark matter, known to space physicists as historical context plasma, is frequently manipulated by news media organizations when they convey its barest atomic structure. We advise an open-mind, ambient music and a beverage.

Detecting ‘free market’ era ‘thoughtcrimes’
Today, ‘free markets’ are still promoted with a positive image by many of the world’s major media outlets, prestigious business schools and dominant governments. This promotion continues despite the fact that the world’s richest people have accumulated vast fortunes, at a time when the majority of people are burdened with economic poverty. For example, in their “Wealth Report 2012,” Knight Frank and Citi Private Bank found that the world’s richest minority population, with a net worth of $100 million or more, called centa-millionaires, numbered 63,000 and possessed $39.9 trillion in wealth. They come in various pigmentations. Mostly, they are white, male and bald, and were last seen leaving posh restaurants everywhere.
Amid this opulence, Raj Patel showed in Stuffed and Starved that there are 800 million starving people, partly because they are so poor. But, mostly malnutrition and starvation continues unabated because the world food system is controlled by transnationalized cartels of corporations that dominate food production, distribution, marketing and its finance. This fact alone ought to alert to us that through capitalism’s 950-year history, people have been steadily dispossessed of land and, therefore, stripped of the capacity to maintain their own economic systems.
In present era of transnational capitalism, the ‘free-market’ economic model is often associated with ‘free trade’ agreements between countries or groups of nations, innovative solutions and more consumer choice.
News stories typically emphasize that ‘free markets’ reduce red-coloured tape. This depiction works as a short-hand to signal that ‘evil’ communist tendencies of excessive, expensive and inefficient bureaucracy have been overcome. The world’s major media outlets also regularly air or publish stories that valourize technological breakthroughs engineered by teams of happily eager, professional geniuses. Such glowing treatments essentially market the developments of ‘the market economy’ with no cost to the corporations featured. Additionally, news anchors almost audibly breathe a collective sigh of relief that there is no need to put up with the scratchy old film and washed-out glitchy video-tape days, when autocratic states dictated how public enterprises should mass produce the same single product line over many shivery cold decades, for everyone.
In light of the sarcastic twist that this article has just been given, would you still expect that ‘free markets’ and the key insiders and institutions that favour them, to really deserve positive reputations? To answer this question, we need to journey back to the field-testing stage of ‘free markets’ to reveal the core, unacknowledged ‘thoughtcrimes’ that underpin the ideology that was used to promote this ‘economic’ framework: neoliberalism.
To make sense of the phenomena that we will likely encounter on this journey, which will start in the olden days of the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s, we need to pack a dictionary.
The word thoughtcrime is familiar to old-fashioned people who still read books and in this case, novelist George Orwell’s 1949 book, Nineteen Eighty-Four. The novel is set in the dystopian world of Airstrip One (formerly England), which is a province of Oceania, one of three super-states. In Oceania, a thoughtcrime is the criminal act of holding unspoken beliefs or doubts that oppose or question the Party, which is a totalitarian group that controls the political, economic and cultural resources of the super-state on behalf of unseen oligarchs. In today’s ‘free market’ era, ‘thoughtcrimes’ are rising despite efforts in thought control, conscious or otherwise, by missionaries of the global media.
Scholars and independent-minded journalists (or ‘thought criminals’) who are critical of the cover story used to market ‘free markets’ have identified its underlying ideological construct, called neoliberalism. As a packaged set of claims, neoliberal ideology differed from its former incarnation, liberalism in one major respect. Exponents of liberalism in the coal-smoke filled days of the nineteenth century promoted the idea that individuals were inherently good, while maintaining a negative view of society, and claimed musket and canon-weilding states were even worse, because they existed to coerce individuals, communities and institutions.
While neoliberalism reinvigorated these beliefs in the exhaust-fume days in the late 1970s (and throughout the 1980s), it did so with a woeful depiction of how the Welfare State had become an unbearable financial burden on societies all over the world. Ostensibly, the Welfare State had been instituted as a necessity to relieve the deprivation wrought upon societies by the wealthy by means of the Great Depression. In the United States, it worked as a way to formally consolidate a citizenry of state citizens into one political unit, as federalized American citizens, through the Social Security System.
Of course, the key insiders behind the promotion of neoliberalism did not reveal that this prior episode of economic warfare was the result of an orchestrated financial boom in the 1920s. If it had become widely known that key Wall Street and London banks had pursued a callous strategy to consolidate their banking and industrial holdings following the inevitable bursting of the financial bubble in 1929, people would have questioned how numerous financial crises since 1970 had really occurred.
Time-travelling to the black hole the Global Media Complex are too scared to investigate
The truth is, the world’s major news outlets, or the Global Media Complex, will not explore the ‘black hole’ mentioned in the ‘directions for use’ above. They will not even take the perilous journey involving time-travel, even though the swish gadgetry distracts the mind from the danger. Even if they had space physicists to call upon, the major media outlets still would not investigate this black hole. Our imaginary space physicists have called this black hole the Great Milky Way Memory Hole and have determined it is comprised of dense historical context plasma.
To help manufacture consent, Planet Earth’s public was sold the made-for-media catch-phrase – the ‘trickle-down effect.’ This wryly encoded promise – that the benefits would materialize for the world’s public – was predicated on the notion that the rich were needed in order for societies to prosper. Thus, some of the wealth of the rich – under the proposed ‘free-market reforms’ or ‘shock treatments’ – would ‘trickle down’ to society at-large.
As with dripping taps, the amount and interval would be regulated by the market’s ‘Invisible Hand’, which was a euphemism for an oligarchy and their army of unseen professionals, who have constructed a Worldwide Financial-secrecy Haven Complex. Oligarchs are super-rich people who use their enormous wealth to influence the politics of society. At the superficial level, news outlets manufactured the idea that in a ‘free market’ system, where government intervention was prevented, the Invisible Hand would price goods and services efficiently through rigorous competition.
However, a highly-networked North Atlantic capitalist class used private political mechanisms to ensure that wealth accumulated upward, so that there was only just enough income trickling-down to avert rebellion. Meanwhile, fees for ‘public’ services increased, even as the universal tax system remained in place.
As such, this article’s title, ‘Code Purple’, signals an emergency. Since the mid-1970s, the North Atlantic capitalist class (now transnational in scope) has pursued a global neo-colonial project, by stealth. Under this project, ‘free markets’ were promoted with propaganda that promised freedom and prosperity for all. As numerous investigators have shown, such as Alistair Barry (1996); Bryan Bruce (2013); Michel Chossudovsky (2003); Steve Edwards (2012); Jane Kelsey (1997); Naomi Klein (2007); and Michael Rowbotham (1998); neither of these promises have eventuated. The intention of the super-rich all along was to increase their wealth and power, and, in the process, address a number of crises that emerged in the late 1960s.
One major crisis was a crisis of declining profits rates for transnational corporations. A second major crisis was the ‘counter-cultural revolution’ that appeared in the 1960s. A third major crisis occurred at this time when the perpetually ‘developing’ countries demanded Western technology so they could ‘develop’, as a ‘fair trade’ for having supplied the raw materials for the ‘long post-war boom’. The North Atlantic capitalist class regarded these last two crises as an affront to their perceived right to permanently rule the planet.
The Shock Doctrine
The North Atlantic capitalist class embarked on a ‘war of position’, as William Carroll reported in his book, The Making of a Transnational Capital Class. To ensure they won this ‘war of position’, or an ideological ‘battle of ideas’, the neoliberal movement followed a stratagem espoused by the sect’s leading proponent Milton Friedman, a professor of Economics at the University of Chicago. Friedman favoured a ‘shock therapy’ approach, as encapsulated by his mantra: “speed, suddenness and scope”.
‘Free market shock treatments’ included lifting financial controls to increase the fluidity of capital flows between countries, the corporatization and privatization of state infrastructure and services, the introduction of user charges, shifting the tax burden ‘downward’, and down-sizing public sector employment. Targeted populations were overwhelmed with the economic shocks as whole sectors of society were transformed and coerced to support the new framework. In this way, a structured set of ‘new enclosures’ were designed to absorb the needs, values and aspirations of pesky, disobedient, ordinary mortals.
The Shock Doctrine is the denied part of the global neo-colonial project. During the field-testing stage of ‘free markets’ in the mid-1960s to mid-1970s, US-backed terrorism was required to clear opposition for the ‘free market economic shock treatments’ that followed. Five countries – Brazil, Indonesia, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina – pursued a developmentalist economic framework and were all subjected to military juntas and/or CIA-backed coups. The free market economic shock therapies were themselves mechanisms of coercion, because all sectors of society were thrown into crisis. Everyone suffered, except key insiders, who became richer and accumulated more political power.
Beginning in the early 1970s, a blueprint to transform the world with a ‘free market’ framework called the ’1980s Project’ included stratagems to undermine democracy and the counter-cultural movements that emerged in the 60s. Elite planners resolved to encourage political apathy, as ‘governance crisis’ literature of this period makes evident. From their perspective, there was a ‘Crisis of Democracy’ because there was too much participation from ‘below’. The 1980s Project, which was sponsored by a New York-based global policy shaping think tank, the Council on Foreign Relations, sought to preserve as far as possible the dominance of a Trilateral World, which was the United States, Europe and Japan.
Forty years on, so-called ‘free and open societies’ typically have a ‘Look, Don’t Touch’ democracy, wherein systemic political apathy has taken root. As is made clear in Naomi Klein’s book, The Shock Doctrine (2007); in Noam Chomsky’s book Failed States (2006); and Eugene Jarecki’s documentary Why We Fight (2006), the United States continues to use military violence, or terrorism, to deliver the ‘freedom’ of ‘free markets.’ This situation has been sustained by excellent satirist-generated propaganda posing as news (reproduced by the Global Media Complex), which keeps a significant fraction of the population confused, misinformed and naïve, while conditioning them to believe they are well-informed.
Ignorance is Strength? Global Media Missionaries valourize distraction as a virtue.
Disturbingly, American journalist Chris Hedges has reported a corporate totalitarian core that thrives inside a fictitious democratic shell. This core yields an inverted totalitarian state that few recognize because it does not look like the Orwellian world of Nineteen Eighty-four. This corporate totalitarian core is spreading outward from America. In essence, a corporatized totalitarianism is driving the construction of a worldwide technocratic system.
A technocracy is an economic system that exploits technology as a means of social control through the allocation of energy and resources rather than the market price system of cartelized monopoly capitalism. The construction of this global superstructure was embedded into the “1980’s Project”.
Exponents of free markets disparaged the Welfare State as centralized planning, with obvious reference to communist states. Meanwhile, the 1980’s Project Blueprint for ‘free markets’ simply re-versioned trade-quotas with new technocratic parameters driven by cartels of transnational banking, industrial and communications corporations.
Financial crises were used by a global banking cartel as ‘change mechanisms’ to coerce governments to implement these re-versioned trade quota systems under the auspices of ‘free markets’. This highly centralized form of coercion, known as ‘speed politics’, had the intention of overwhelming the resistance of nation state populaces, while accelerating the implementation of technologies to build the new world technocratic order. In other words, financial discipline was embedded into the new technocratic systems to ensure entrenchment of vast cartelized transnational corporations and the permanent supremacy of a transnational capitalist class.
‘Royalizing’ commercial sovereignty
To ensure the durability of the global neo-colonial project, elite planners used a strategy known as new constitutionalism, which was designed to lock-in changes and take them beyond the reach of indigenous and nation state immigrant-settler populations. Under a new constitutionalism framework, nation state sovereignty is transformed into a commercialized form of sovereign rule-making that occurs in an international arena. The intention is to favour the property rights of the super-rich, whose wealth is protected in a state-sponsored, worldwide Financial Secrecy Haven Complex. Ironically, within such secret spaces, the politically and economically powerful can create shadow selves that exploit labyrinthine trusts, shell corporations and private banks. With jurisdictional protection constructed by the four major accountancy firms, and a myriad of conspiring law firms and major banks, the worldwide Financial Secrecy Haven Complex works as an effective super-weapon to wage global-scale economic warfare.
Because key insiders from the world’s major and significant governments are involved in this project to ‘royalize’ the transnational capitalist class, we cannot call the authorities for help. Hence, the term, ‘Code Purple’, since the colour purple signifies royalty. Where once cheesy over-simplified emergency red alerts were limited to children’s TV programs, in the likes of The Thunderbirds, since 9/11, elevated terror threats have become embedded in the American peoples’ consciousness through the use of televised colour-coded warnings. Such terror alerts mask the military violence used to spread ‘free markets’ by the world’s major and significant powers, including USA America.
If it becomes common knowledge that key power institutions have been manufacturing consent for projects that have a hidden purpose, societies would rightly revolt against the authorities. Mutiny in public and private institutions has become necessary to ensure that key insiders who have conspired and colluded to gain more political power and economic wealth, respectively, are redeployed to those institutions most suited to their words, deeds and ethos: the prisons of the world’s Incarceration Complex.
It is also crucial that land reform occurs on a mass scale, because without the redistribution of vast tracts of land held by the minority super-rich populations or oligarchies, communities the world-over will lack the economic means to pursue politically decentralized, self-determining communities. Mass land reform will require a global-scale, organic, peaceful revolution. As Jeffrey Winters observed while researching his book Oligarchy, oligarchs have been remarkably resilient over millennia to avert mass land reform.
Why this revolution will not be televised
Don’t expect to catch-out reporters, news anchors and editors from the world’s major media outlets admitting that they had gotten it so wrong all along. That is, perhaps, until the revolution’s success has not simply become inevitable, but is accomplished. Stage one of the revolution I am writing about is the most crucial ever attempted outside human history.
It is the mutiny happening in small subtle ways in your mind. It is the rebellion against your conditioned world-view.
This revolution is one that will not be televised. Not simply because it is too private for the US National Security Agency to pry into. Rather, it is too dangerous to broadcast, lest others become curious, spontaneous and emboldened to rebel too.
The truth is, the world’s major news outlets fear the dark matter known to imaginary space physicists as historical context plasma.
The new missionaries of global capitalism also fear the idea of mass populaces opening their minds to new fun-loving creativity, gracious dignified community-building work and compassionate loving acts of rebellion. They are also uninterested in its promotion because the formative moments of such personal journeys are problematic to film for tele!

Looking back on how the neoliberal rationalist paradigm came to be the dominant ideology of our time, BBC filmmaker Adam Curtis found in his 2007 documentary series, The Trap: Episode II, The Lonely Robot, that this ‘battle of ideas’ included the new language and thinking of a technocratic elite. Rationalism here means a methodological pattern of thought that is self-justifying, un-rooted to ethical considerations and which advocates efficiency based on a ready supply of answers that express no doubt (Saul, 1993). The regime of the neocolonial sect redefined workers as human resources and human capital that would perform to ‘numbers’ to fit with the ideology’s central demand: efficiency.

Before the Mental-buzz
With a view of an ugly concrete slab wall and a dumpster bin four stories below, Dr. Harry Hiveman recounted the untold story of Ella Yelich-O’Connor’s meteoric rise to ‘Queen Bee’ of pop music as Lorde from his office at Auckland University, in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland.
According to Dr Hiveman, Ella Yelich-O’Connor came to see him one morning at the beginning of 2011, more than a year before she co-wrote the hit pop song ‘Royals’ with Grammy co-winner Joel Little. Hiveman, who is professor of the History of Nearly Every Hierarchical Civilization Since Sumeria, told of how the budding pop-music artist popped into his life looking for answers about why New Zealand had become a more materially unequal society since her parents were bourgeoise children.
“She wanted to know if all the kids in her class would turn into bourgeoise adult bees, or whether there was a statistical probability that some were destined to be working class worker bees”, recalled Dr Hiveman.
Hiveman explained that Aotearoans such as Yelich-O’Connor were recognized as an endangered species during the early experiments here with ‘free market economic shock treatments’. Under the ‘free market’ regime introduced in 1984, regulatory controls on the financial system were lifted, state-sector spending was cut and public sector institutions were corporatized with a modus operandi that is now termed ‘speed politics’. Many academics, including Hiveman, were quick to see that education would be made to fit a corporate model too.
“It was recognized in the quieter corridors of academia that the working class were headed for a cerebral extinction”, lamented Hiveman as he stood in front of a wall of books in his office, which also occupy the parallel intellectual universe that is his brain. “So, those of us who cared in academia – and there were not many prepared to rock the political speed show – mustered as many among the sheople from the wider community as we could to figure out a plan”.
The first meeting, which took place on Halloween night 1987 at the Masonic Hotel in Devonport on Auckland’s North Shore, numbered a dismal 25 people. “Our marketing sucked. People thought we were tricky Freemasons colonizing genuine dissent”, said Hiveman with a wry smile.
Hiveman speaks in a way that learned people do when they have bounced back from that gravity feeling that comes from thinking they are the only one carrying the cares of the world on their shoulders. “Wrongly,” continued Hiveman, “it was decided that the middle-class, who dominated the meetings, would focus their dwindling resources on itself.”
After a few more months, this middle-class membership formed the haughty sounding Aotearoa Rich Reaction to support their kaupapa (or plan). This group, and an offshoot, would eventually have a hand in nurturing Yelich-O’Connor from her earliest years.
It’s telling that the trigger event for the meetings and ultimately the formation of Aotearoa Rich Reaction was the 1987 October Share Market Crash. Angry bourgeoise from Auckland North Shore suburbs formed the grassroots foundation after their forays into the stockmarket turned sour during the Crash of ’87.
Many had lost old family baches, Miami Vice style speed-boats and bikini lifestyles as they were forced to scramble assets to pay for their forays into financial speculation.
Hiveman says his former wife saw ‘opportunity’ in the crisis of the ’87 Sharemarket Crash’, and unbeknown to him quietly set about designing a business plan for what became Limelight.
The group has tried to re-brand itself with a politically correct veneer since the music video for ‘Royals’ laid-bare the mundane waste of youthful aspiration, even among the middle class. This re-branding has occurred amid recent raised awareness of child poverty on ‘the news’ in New Zealand, which has made it hard for Aotearoan parents to explain to their children why they do not appear to care.
To this end, Aotearoa Rich Reaction currently claims the primary trigger for its inception was anger at rising unemployment rates among the working class, particularly in the provinces, during the 1980s.
Back in 1988, a split occurred in Aotearoa Rich Reaction when Harry Hiveman’s marriage with the group’s co-chair, Cynthia Hiveman, hit rocks. Harry Hiveman was the other-half of the group’s chair.
In short, the couple split over the politics of money.
But, it was not so much the stress over a shortage of cash in the household. They were both professors at Auckland University. Dr. Harry Hiveman lectured in history. Dr. Cynthia Hiveman’s expertise was business organizational structures. Cynthia Hiveman had also bought stocks before the ’87 Sharemarket Crash.
The sticky issue for the Hiveman’s was the question of what was the appropriate form and use of money in a country that was increasingly being referred to as an ‘economy’. Harry Hiveman opposed debt-based money systems that dominate the world, wherein governments do not exercise a sovereign power to create money debt-free to support the political-economy.
Hiveman says governments the world-over have submitted to the coercion of international bankers, who have wielded their highly-networked secretive power structures to create financial and economic crises and wars. Hiveman advocated debt-free money, wherein public banks would control the quantity of cash and interest-free credit in relation to necessary political and economic activity.
Overlord rolled her eyes when she heard Hiveman’s vision, as though it were a scratchy sound recording from a fire-side radio chat. “Harry always went ‘high-brow’ with his visions of ‘political economy’”, said Overlord sardonically mimicking Hiveman’s rabbit ear gesture for technical terms and euphemisms. “None of us would be able to shop if he had his way”, chided Overlord.”
For Overlord, sound economics means people (presumably the middle class) being paid well, so that they have enough to live comfortably, save and invest in their own businesses. Overlord does not trust finance companies and the financial markets. Although, oddly, she owns three houses she doesn’t live in, despite the 1987 Share Market Crash precipitating the bust of a property market boom, albeit a commercial one.
Following the Hiveman’s marriage break-up, a rupture occurred in Aotearoa Rich Reaction. A break-away group was formed, called Web Underground, led by Cynthia. It was at this time that Cynthia Hiveman reverted to her family name, Overlord. Harry Hiveman remained involved in Aotearoa Rich Reaction for a short time, but left when he realized Cynthia ultimately controlled the group from within Web Underground’s network.
According to Hiveman, in 1998, Cynthia Overlord spotted Yelich-O’Connor when she was two years-old in a push-chair and was stunned by the look and feeling of intelligence in the toddler’s eyes. Apparently, Overlord said to Yelich-O’Connor’s mother, “I can tell by your girl’s eyes that she is very smart and gifted. Nurture her well.”
Hiveman says Overlord followed Yelich-O’Connor and her perplexed mum to see where they lived and find out who they were. “A normal person would have struck up a conversation.”
An inner circle of the membership of Web Underground, led by Overlord, decided they wanted Yelich-O’Connor to be ‘Queen Bee’ of what would become known as Generation Y in Aotearoa, without her parents’ knowledge. Overlord denies this claim.
When Yelich-O’Connor returned to New Zealand from Los Angeles, I asked ‘Lorde’ whether her family has ties to Aotearoa Rich Reaction and Web Underground. ‘Lorde’ snapped, “Cynthia Hiveman is a stalker who lives a stupid fantasy.”
Hiveman says the break-away group, Web Underground, perceived that there needed to be a ‘Queen Bee’ to live the fantasy of a privileged upper class life. Their logic, according to Hiveman, was so that the next generation would have a leading figurehead to show them the importance of having good taste, which is a value that Aotearoa Rich Reaction claim on their website to have in abundance. Overlord’s company, Limelight, makes the same claim with its slogan, “Keeping good taste in fashion.”
While the media milieu gathered around Yelich-O’Connor at Auckland International Airport persisted in asking her inane ‘little country-big country’ questions about whether she got more of a buzz winning music awards in New Zealand or in USA America, the performer made a point of taking her shades off. Yelich-O’Connor rolled her eyes so much that many of the photos captured the whites of her eyes and prompted a social media frenzy, with captions such as “Return of Lorde of the Zombies”.
Yelich-O’Connor who, as her pop-persona Lorde, had implored the world to let her live the fantasy of being Queen Bee, yet again, during her performance of ‘Royals’ at the Grammy’s became visibly strained as she gathered her mental-buzz for the final push through media circus. “The blue sky day outside is a reminder that this world is worth fighting for. Since Planet Earth can’t speak a human language, artists need to communicate nature’s needs”, Yelich-O’Connor said witheringly. “Now please, return to your news’ hives”. The inane media pack left for their news hives. I rang Dr Harry Hiveman to clarify Lorde’s alleged special status..
Professor Hiveman views Web Underground’s idea of a chosen ‘Queen Bee’ as a reworking of mythological elements from all the world’s major cultures and religions.
“The idea of choosing someone special is not dissimilar to the Roman Catholic Church’s plagiarizing of mythological elements from prior cultures to construct the myth that the legendary Christ figure was ‘God’ incarnated to teach humans how to live a virtuous life”, said Hiveman with a broad smile and shiny white teeth. “When you break it down, Web Underground, which has been headed by Cynthia since day one, wanted to elevate Ella so that all of the Gen Y’s could one day consume a vicarious salvation in the new global religion: cartel capitalism.”
“Ella was nurtured to keep asking ‘But, why?’ by this faction whose stronghold is in the North Shore suburb of Belmont. Ella’s win at her school’s talent show, Belmont Idol, at age 12, was in essence, part of a broader rivalry among the North Shore’s bourgeoise members of Aotearoa Rich Reaction. I found it creepy that she got so much attention after that competition”.
Ironically, Lorde’s curiosity to understand where New Zealand’s egalitarian spirit went led her to Hiveman.
Making a Queen Bee go pop
“Ella came to see me before she wrote ‘Royals’ ”, the Auckland University professor said. He emphasized that he only knew Yelich-O’Connor’s parents as acquaintances and had not seen them “since last century”. Hiveman added with an impish grin, “She said she didn’t know of me at all, and hadn’t spoken to anyone about an inner feeling to find a ‘professor dude’. So, she followed her nose and found herself outside my office, and knocked after having made a wish she would find the right door.”
“Ella was very insistent that I teach her how it was that ‘free markets’ took hold in New Zealand,” said Hiveman. “At first, I set her up in the university library with Alistair Barry’s excellent documentaries, Someone Else’s Country[i] and In a Land of Plenty”.[ii]
She came back the next day and said, “Please professor dude, may I have some more mental-buzz.”
And that’s how I came to give her a one-on-one education in the Shock Doctrine Conspiracy orchestrated by key insiders of the North Atlantic Capitalist Class, which she alluded to her in Grammy speech”, said Hiveman.[iii] “She was my unofficial student of 2011,” he smiled proudly.
He recalled how she’d text him and he’d find her in the library with an array of open books spread across the desk, the floor and the couches. “She never cleaned up after herself. She didn’t care, and we didn’t care, she was on a different kind of buzz”, Hiveman pondered.
“One day I found her sitting on the library floor in a corner with a pile of books stacked around her like a beehive”, recalled Hiveman. “I could see through the hole in the top she had left so she could still see and breathe. Ella had an A3 pad with all these lines joining small boxes with names in them. She titled these sketches “Mental maps of how the world works”.
Evidently, Lorde’s mental maps were always patterned on a pyramid, to symbolize hierarchical power structures.
“It’s rare to see an artistically inspired person of her age take to critically studying the political economy of anywhere”, said Lorde’s mental mentor.
“Sadly,” continued Hiveman, “New Zealand isn’t an anomaly in the ‘free market’ era. Like everywhere else in the ‘developed world’, political apathy has taken hold. It’s achieved in subtle ways like trashy reality TV shows displacing the broadcast of documentaries critical of elite power.”
According to Hiveman, political apathy among the masses is the consequence of calculated planning.
As he reached for a book called “Imperial Brain Trust” on the shelf behind him, Hiveman explained, “A New York-based think-tank called the Council on Foreign Relations designed a blueprint called the ‘1980s project’.”[iv] He didn’t explain further. Instead, he opened the chapter and flicked through the pages that were heavily underlined in pencil and bookmarked with Monopoly game currency.
“Ella is one of the few of her generation to not only question neoliberal economics, but to study the roll-out of ‘free market economic treatments’”, Hiveman said without looking up from pages. The tone he deployed was not unlike a professor speaking proud of a graduating PhD student as a way to inspire a tardy undergrad to work harder. “If only all bourgeois kids came to university prepared with the education I gave Ella,” he said, peering up with a look at me that suggested he could see into my brain, and had found it’s contents wanting.
Imperial Brain Trust
Reading what Hiveman and Lorde have read, it is apparent that key players at the Council on Foreign Relations, a New York-based think-tank led by the super-rich banker David Rockefeller, strategized to transform the world through financial discipline.[v] This ‘discipline’ meted-out by key insiders from Wall Street and London banks involved orchestrating numerous financial crises around the world since the 1970s.[vi]
It turns out, the ‘1980s Project‘ was a plan developed in the 1970s to transform the world under a ‘free market’ economic framework. Their modus operandi would be to cause financial crises as a means to coerce governments to implement more ‘free market economic shock treatments’.
Underpinning this plan was an objective to foment political apathy worldwide on behalf of the North Atlantic capitalist class. The dominant capitalist coalitions of Europe and North America felt there was too much democracy being demanded by the 60s counter-cultural movements.[vii]
Before Lorde’s skin-blistering suppressed speech, the ordinary worker bees that sung along to ‘Royals’ were oblivious to what was required of them. But now, with its ‘gone viral’ status on the web, the Queen Bee has left them with no fantasies about what she wants of them. (See: Lorde’s Suppressed Grammy Award acceptance speech [Full Transcript] on Snoopman News).
“Thank-you everyone soo much for giving a shit about our song, ‘Royals’, said Lorde as she finished her Grammy speech. “May you all find the balls to help construct a world based on resilient community, bona-fide freedom, and peace. To do that, we will need to redeploy the psychopaths that currently run the world to the planet’s prisons. Peace cannot happen with reconciliation. That was Nelson Mandela’s mistake.[viii] The first step to peace is justice firmly served.”
“Gen Y’ers now know”, said Hiveman, “if they are to achieve bona fide ‘freedom’ they will have to work collectively with those older and younger to dismantle the pyramid structures that support capitalism”.
“At the same time, worker bees of the world of all generations will need to theorize, test and transform the world with projects that embed local community resilience” wrote Hiveman on his blog, ‘Nectar and Stings’.
For a generation that has been conditioned to be brand-conscious consumers, it would seem Gen Y need to face their fear of going mental, lest it stops them from being more curious at that moment that their indoctrinated consumerist brains begin to sizzle.
Iggy Swind has worked alongside reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet and photojournalist Peter Parker at the Daily Bugle. Swind investigations proved both super-heroes work undercover for the Hollywood media cartel to distract their mass audiences with their mediocre ‘saving the world’ sagas, leaving those that run the world at-large. Those investigations have been suppressed.
