Belated ‘Scoop’

New Zealand’s leading daily newspaper, The New Zealand Herald, published a hand-written copy of Lorde’s censored Grammy Award speech on its front-page yesterday, February 14.

The New Zealand Herald is the first major news outlet in the world to publish the suppressed speech. But, The New Zealand Herald presented the story on the front-page as though the ‘national’ newspaper had the scoop that Lorde’s Grammy speech had been censored. (See: Grammy Speech Censored). The teaser line at the bottom invited readers to view the full speech “sent to The New Zealand Herald by Lorde”, while the accompanying article, “Queen Bee Stung” on page 2 implied that the newspaper had published the hand-written speech as soon as they confirmed it was genuine.

However, Snoopman News scooped the story “Clipping Queen Bee’s Wings: Lorde’s real Grammy speech suppressed” on February 6.

Snoopman News reported that Lorde shocked the Grammy audience with a lecture-like speech that was a scathing indictment of global capitalism. Lorde told the audience that the world was ruled by well-resourced, highly networked super-rich people who use their “outrageous fortunes” to employ “[a]rmies of professional, political, religious and military elites” to make the world secure for their power structures.

But, the apparent ‘live’ broadcast had a one-minute delay and was switched to a ‘rehearsal take’ that had been shot earlier when it became apparent that Lorde was not going to waste the opportunity to outline why the world needs to remove the planet’s ruling classes from power, by thanking people already listed on her album, Pure Heroine.

The Grammy studio had taken the precaution of shooting ‘rehearsal takes’ for all of the nominees, so that if any winners talked for too long or if their speeches or outfits revealed contents that breached its censorship rating, such embarrassing moments could be edited.

A typed copy of the censored speech was initially sourced from Lorde by Snoopman News after the singer-songwriter returned to her home economy, New Zealand, and realized there had been a media black-out. The story “Clipping Queen Bee’s Wings: Lorde’s real Grammy speech suppressed” went viral over the internet after Snoopman News published the scoop on February 6. The same day, Snoopman News also published a full transcript of the speech, complete with citations, that shows Lorde had backed her attack on the world’s rulers with solid research.

A video of Lorde delivering what was described as an “oratory nuclear-bomb shell” by the journalist that broke the story, Iggy Swind, initially kept getting taken down on You Tube, (and is currently going viral on the web). The video shows that at first the elite of the USA America music industry gathered at the Staples Center, a sports stadium, laughed, when Lorde said, “Thankyou everyone soo much for making this song explode because this world is mental.”

However, the video shows the mood quickly changed as the composed singer-songwriter continued unfazed, despite having just won two Grammy awards, Best Solo Pop Performance and Song of the Year, for her hit single ‘Royals’.

“Planet Earth is run by psychopaths that hide behind slick marketing, ‘freedom’ propaganda and ‘economic growth’ rhetoric, while they construct a global system of corporatized totalitarianism”, said the singer-songwriter as she eyed the music industry audience.

Lorde told her captive and now quiet audience that a USA American journalist called Chris Hedges had recently reported that a corporate form of totalitarianism was responsible for what she said the news media was hiding: the rapid militarization of the planet to gain permanent dominance over the world.

To scoop, or not to scoop

Lorde had sent a copy of the Grammy speech to The New Zealand Herald before she scooped-up the two Grammies. The ‘national’ newspaper was meant to publish the speech if Lorde won and spoke what was really on her mental mind to the elite of the USA America music industry.

But, following the Grammy studio’s on-air censorship of Lorde’s speech, an “executive decision” was made at The New Zealand Herald to shelve the hand-written copy. Lorde’s speech evidently sat on top of a filing cabinet in the newsroom, where it languished for two and a half weeks.

So, in a way, The New Zealand Herald did have the scoop of Lorde’s censored Grammy speech. However, the speech, which was written with a purple eye-liner pencil, was published by The New Zealand Herald in response to a ‘Full Transcript’ copy that had also gone viral on the internet this week.

Filtering ‘the news’: The speech The New Zealand Herald left on top of a filing cabinet to gather dust.

Filtering ‘the news’: The speech The New Zealand Herald left on top of a filing cabinet to gather dust.

The scoop, “Clipping Queen Bees Wings: Lorde’s real Grammy speech suppressed”, by Snoopman News, and the accompanying ‘Full Transcript’ has drawn over 1,000,000 visitors to the up-start news outlet’s website since launching its Facebook page “Snoopman News” on Monday February 10. The story spread mostly via Facebook and has been re-posted on multiple blog-sites.

New Zealand Herald editor Shayne Currie said defensively, “We had to print Lorde’s censored speech because our shareholders started screaming at us down the phone saying ‘why didn’t you get this scoop?’ ” The newspapers’ investors had seen the ‘Full Transcript’ of Lorde’s suppressed Grammy speech on their Facebook news feeds and had lamented the lost advertising revenue and the forgone sales to the mediocre daily.

Currie said he got hot under the collar, not least because The New Zealand Herald never publishes the likes of Lorde’s speech, or other well-researched arguments, on its front-page. “That would give-away a ‘big-picture’ view of the private political system that uses economic means as its form of social control, capitalism”. (See: Grammy Speech Censored).

Usually investors are risk-averse to such exposures, but said Currie, “The Herald has been leaching readers because we’ve bent and stretched the boundaries of the mediocre so far, New Zealanders are realizing they can’t take anymore of our Holy ‘free market’ Crap”.

In a conference call with The New Zealand Herald‘s owners, Currie answered-back. “I said to the investors, “We didn’t print the hand-written speech at the time, because our news is driven by focused-group survey formulas, the regurgitation of corporate-biased syndicated feeds from other transnational news corporations, and press releases curried into something resembling stories to fulfill our end of the low-level bribes we receive from PR companies on a daily basis,” Currie proudly confided.

At this point in the interview, Currie misread my surprise that he was being so candid, for a social-media era ‘Like’ that he had been ‘ballsy’. He added, “In a news market where there’s only four major players, a cartel if you will, we had an obligation to our investors to try to steal the thunder of bloody Snoopnews or whatever it’s called, because undermining new market entrants is part of the cartel game”.

The newspaper editor stated that when a famous seventeen year-old school-girl essentially explains that to be super-rich, a vast pool of poor people is needed to work in a massive web of transnational corporations, it made his job as a media missionary for global capitalism more tricky.

Trumped by Samoan cleaners

Shayne Currie’s missionary work became trickier this week when two Samoan cleaners had found Lorde’s penciled speech one evening on a filing cabinet in The New Zealand Herald’s newsroom, just as news of its suppression was going viral. According to The New Zealand Herald editor, the cleaners, who are spouses, had taken “selfies” on a cellphone with The New Zealand Herald’s copy of Lorde’s hand-written speech and posted them on Facebook. Currie worries that the couple will become ‘celebrity cleaners’.

“It was a bit of an embarrassment because they took it in reception with The Herald’s branding behind them”, acknowledged Currie the way sheep would if they could speak Kiwilish.

In the silence, he added, “Besides, we would have looked like eggs if we didn’t print the speech.”

“It’s going to make it harder to keep up the ‘free market’ propaganda, when we’re going to be known for employing Samoan ‘celebrity cleaners’, who hold-down six jobs between them to put food on their family. And, as the New Zealand economy’s leading newspaper, whose Samoan ‘celebrity cleaners’ knew a scoop when they saw it and became famous for posting pictures of themselves on Facebook with the censored speech found on the filing cabinet in our newsroom”, moaned Currie.

Still, he said cheering himself up, “when you get gems like this quote from the Samoan cleaners, there’s value in printing them because its rebuilds your audience when you’ve lost legitimacy”, said Currie grinning over his i-Phone.

“Lorde, we luff yoo”, read Currie. “Yoo speek hour tru feelin hart. Dose boss palangi and deer brown, yellow n black sellout bros needs ta go ta chail. Not go paast Go with 200 billonairs, for ta jenoside yoo say n yur speek. XXX ta Falamoe familee”.

And then a sinking feeling came over Currie’s face when he suddenly realized that he confided too much.

American journalist Sophia Bigg-Storm tried to break the story that World I and World II were conjured by an Anglo-American Brotherhood who conspired to dominant the world by controlling oil and finance, through a system enforced by military aggression, subversion and other intrigues.  Her sleuth-work was supported by William Engdahl, author of works such as, Gods of Money and A Century of War; and also by Guido Giacomo Preparata, who wrote Conjuring Hitler. Bigg-Storm’s investigations were suppressed by her former employer, The National Enquirer.

Snoopman News has been able to resume tweeting today, but could only do so by first promising to be good. The social media platform, Twitter, suspended Snoopman News’ Twitter account on Sunday February 9, alleging the news outlet had breached it’s rules for making “multiple unsolicited mentions to other users”. (See Twitter suspends Snoopman News for soliciting news).

Twitter issued a ‘yellow’ suspension notice to Snoopman News after the news outlet had made earnest attempts to reach a global audience with the news that Lorde’s real Grammy speech had been suppressed.

Meanwhile, the scoop that Snoopman News was trying to break, about the censorship of Lorde’s real Grammy speech, has gone viral. Snoopman’s WordPress news site has hosted over 20,000 visitors in the 20 hour period to 8pm, Tuesday February 11 (Greenich Meantime). Snoopman News’ audience has been particularly interested in reading the full transcript of Lorde’s Grammy speech, which she delivered when she won her second Grammy for the pop hit ‘Royals’, with Song of the Year.

Legendary journalist Iggy Swind reported that the apparent ‘live’ broadcast had a one-minute delay and was switched to a ‘rehearsal take’ when Lorde gave what he described as “a lecture-like speech that was a scathing indictment of global capitalism”.

Swind, who has worked with famed reporter Clark Kent and award-winning photojournalist Peter Parker, found that Lorde had been mentored by a university professor, Dr. Harry Hiveman, from Auckland, New Zealand.

According to Dr. Hiveman, Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yellich-O’Connor, “followed her nose” one summer day in early 2011 and found the professor in his office. Yellich-O’Connor “wanted to know if all the kids in her class would turn into bourgeoise adult bees, or whether there was a statistical probability that some were destined to be working class worker bees”, recalled Dr. Hiveman.

It was this unofficial summer school tuition that gave the singer-songwriter the mental grounding to state with confidence at the Grammy Awards that, “Planet Earth is run by psychopaths that hide behind slick marketing, ‘freedom’ propaganda and ‘economic growth’ rhetoric, while they construct a global system of corporatized totalitarianism”.

Mental chain reaction

The singer-songwriter Lorde shocked USA America’s music industry when accepting her second miniature gold-coloured gramophone for the night at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday January 26 2014 in Los Angeles, California. The shock was not because the singer-songwriter won two Grammy awards, Best Solo Pop Performance and Song of the Year, for her hit single ‘Royals’.

Rather, it has emerged that Lorde delivered a lecture-like speech that was a scathing indictment of global capitalism. But, the apparent ‘live’ broadcast had a one-minute delay and was switched to a ‘rehearsal take’ that had been shot earlier.

All of the nominees had been filmed earlier as a precaution, so that if any winners talked for too long or if their speeches or outfits revealed contents that breached its censorship rating, the Grammy’s studio could edit such moments without the wider world being any wiser. The near-seamless insertion of the ‘rehearsal take’ occurred after a wide-shot of the auditorium as Lorde, and her Grammy co-winner Joel Little, made their way up the steps to the stage.

Evidently, Lorde, whose real name is Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor, was miffed about the introduction of a ‘rehearsal take’ and prepared a lengthy speech. Yelich-O’Connor’s unexpected oratory nuclear-bomb shell nearly exploded the subterfuge of the ruling class both present and absent, and that of their media-guardians that watch over the White House-Hollywood Military-Media Complex.

Royal Lecture: Ella Yelich-O'Connor A.K.A. Lorde educates elites at the 56th Grammy Awards.

Royal Lecture: Ella Yelich-O’Connor, A.K.A. Lorde, educates elites at the 56th Grammy Awards on ‘the death star’ that is global capitalism.

The video, which initially kept getting taken down on You Tube, (and is currently going viral on the web), shows that at first the elite of the USA America music industry gathered at the Staples Center, a sports stadium, laughed, when Lorde said in seventeen year-old Emo-speak, “Thankyou everyone soo much for making this song explode because this world is mental.”

However, as Lorde, who is from the South Pacific nation of New Zealand, continued, she split her audiences’ mirthful consensus in half like Ernest Rutherford let loose in an atomic laboratory. “Planet Earth is run by psychopaths that hide behind slick marketing, ‘freedom’ propaganda and ‘economic growth’ rhetoric, while they construct a global system of corporatized totalitarianism”, said the singer-songwriter as she eyed the music industry audience.

When the cameras cut to the audience, the mood in the room had swiftly changed as the mental atom-ripping shockwaves smashed past their inner ears to their frivolous pop-culture loving brains.

The sequence of shots showed there was a mixture of emotions from hearty-joke enjoyment and uncomfortable status-conscious giggles, to gob-smacked compliant shock and, most entertaining of all, outraged anger emoticon-like faces, that gave the sense of being mentally-wired to stock-market indices and law-suits. The giggling music stars included Katy Perry and Beyouncé, who were both busted by cameras snatching looks at incensed people who are paid a lot to care about USA America’s music industry cartel, which is dominated by a handful of transnational corporations.

Yelich-O’Connor told her captive and now quiet audience that a USA American journalist called Chris Hedges had recently reported that a corporate form of totalitarianism was responsible for what she said the news media was hiding: the rapid militarization of the planet to gain permanent dominance over the world.

The newly-gonged singer-songwriter implored the audience to see a comparison between today’s capture of power by the super-rich and the politically and militarily powerful, and capture of power over city states and nations by monarchies in former times. It was a scene reminiscent of the marionette puppet movie, Team America, wherein Broadway actor Gary Johnston, who is the newest recruit to the paramilitary anti-terrorism force, Team America, implores an audience of world leaders to unite against terrorism by drawing on a philosophical speech that a drunk had told him in a bar. However, the puppet Gary Johnston had failed to research USA America’s history in state-sponsored terrorism, whereas Lorde had done her homework. She appeared to be attempting to use the media propaganda system to reach the mass audience, rather than those that filled the room.

Who rules the world now?

Who rules the world now? Lorde attempts to reach the world mass audience.

“Can we not imagine that in past times”, said Lorde, eyeing her music contemporaries in the front rows, “simple folk found it hard to work out exactly how they were being manipulated by the Royal monarchies, and the Papal monarchy, who claimed a ‘divine right to rule’? Ordinary people from classical times, through to the demise of the Ancien Regime could not see how the rivalrous network of elites and oligarchs were linked, not least because the illiterate masses were indoctrinated to believe in their humble lot, to obey divinely-endorsed authority and to live in fear of damnation.”

Who rules the world now? Yelich-O'Connor compares monarchs and transnational capitalists.

‘Lorde’ compares monarchs from the olden days to today’s transnational capitalists.

At this point, many were enjoying the unexpected lecture from pops’ newest Queen pip-squeak. “So, in today’s mental world, it should become clearer now that Planet Earth is ruled by super-wealthy people, who use their outrageous fortunes to steer the trajectories of whole societies for their own material and political gain.”

“Only ‘Queen Bee’ Lorde could have said that”, said a New Zealand university professor of the History of Nearly Every Hierarchical Civilization Since Sumeria, Dr. Harry Hiveman, who unofficially mentored Yelich-O’Connor in capitalism’s “dark-side” in 2011. Hiveman, who gives the academic habit of making rabbit-ear marks with his index-fingers when speaking in euphemisms and using jargon, refers to capitalism as “the death star”.

Yelich-O’Connor “followed her nose” one summer day in early 2011 as Dr.  Hiveman was in his office preparing for the start of the university year. The singer-songwriter, who grew up in a posh vintage North Shore suburb called Devonport in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, was looking for answers to “but, why?” questions buzzing in her mental space to do with economic inequality she had noticed on ‘the North Shore’.

“Because she found me, and was willing to do what few Gen Y’ers are willing to do – read during their holidays about ‘doom and gloom’ stuff – she was able to let her mind explode on that sports stadium stage three years later”, said the Auckland University professor.

Cynthia Overlord, who is the director of Limelight, a network marketing company that sells female fashion products, including make-up, enthused about Lorde’s  suppressed Grammy speech. “Her fearlessness to say what all Aotearoans of her generation are thinking is why she deserves to led the sales surge in purple finger-nail paint”, beamed Overlord, who made smiling look hard.

Aotearoans are middle-class New Zealanders who have been indoctrinated by mainstream media missionaries to believe that because they regularly follow ‘the news’, this makes them well-informed. The term references Aotearoa, which is original native Mäori name for the North Island of New Zealand and translates to mean ‘the land of the long white cloud’. ‘Aotearoa’ is now commonly used to refer to the whole country because the climate has changed to windy overcast days during the brief summer holiday break when most New Zealanders go ‘outside’.

Hiveman, who was once married to Overlord, sniggered when he heard Overlord “try to spin” Lorde’s speech into a marketing opportunity for Limelight to exploit the ‘Lorde-look’. “Does Cynthia Overlord really believe that Lorde’s purple finger-nails have the magic to solve Aotearoans’ inter-generational malaise”. (Upon divorce, Cynthia Hiveman resumed the use of her family name, Overlord).

Royal Nails: Could Lorde's famous purple nails reboot the New Zealand economy for the middle class?

Royal Nails: Could Lorde’s famous purple nails reboot the New Zealand economy for the middle class?

Overlord is the chairwoman of the Aotearoa Rich Reaction, a group that promotes consumerism as a means to sustain prosperity based on the idea that spending keeps everyone in jobs and therefore well-off and happy.

“I think”, continued Hiveman, smiling as he began to rant, “Cynthia and the well-meaning people who support Aotearoa Rich Reaction are misguided if they believe that such fleeting boosts to consumption will lift their middle-class lifestyle boats. Their snobbery and squeamishness means they avoid at all costs having their deluded consumerist bubbles burst, even when it’s spelled out to them. Like typical bourgeoise, they don’t want to admit that long-term, their strategies for financial independence are ultimately futile, as long as the criminal groups running the world are left intact.”

Hiveman says Aotearoans, like their bourgeoise counterparts in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, would rather get cancer than acknowledge a new economic war has been in play since the early 1970s.

He paused. “They like to believe that their kids are better educated. In a way, some are.”

Aotearoans have music to form school bands, languages to travel with and well-resourced science experiments, Hiveman explained.

“But”, qualified Yelich-O’Connor’s mental-buzz mentor, “they also have sanitized history to misinform their bourgeoise worldviews”.

Journalist Iggy Swind has worked alongside reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet and photojournalist Peter Parker at the Daily Bugle. Swind’s investigations proved both super-heroes work undercover for the Hollywood media cartel to distract mass audiences with their mediocre ‘saving the world’ action sagas, leaving those that run the world at-large. Those investigations have been suppressed.

Queen Bee Mentor: The professor who fed Lorde’s mental buzz

By Iggy Swind

Conjuring Lorde: Substance behind the pop hit 'Royals'

Conjuring Lorde: Mental substance behind the pop hit ‘Royals’

Before the Mental-buzz

With a view of an ugly concrete slab wall and a dumpster bin four stories below, Dr. Harry Hiveman recounted the untold story of Ella Yelich-O’Connor’s meteoric rise to ‘Queen Bee’ of pop music as Lorde from his office at Auckland University, in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland.

According to Dr Hiveman, Ella Yelich-O’Connor came to see him one morning at the beginning of 2011, more than a year before she co-wrote the hit pop song ‘Royals’ with Grammy co-winner Joel Little. Hiveman, who is professor of the History of Nearly Every Hierarchical Civilization Since Sumeria, told of how the budding pop-music artist popped into his life looking for answers about why New Zealand had become a more materially unequal society since her parents were bourgeoise children.

“She wanted to know if all the kids in her class would turn into bourgeoise adult bees, or whether there was a statistical probability that some were destined to be working class worker bees”, recalled Dr Hiveman.

Hiveman explained that Aotearoans such as Yelich-O’Connor were recognized as an endangered species during the early experiments here with ‘free market economic shock treatments’. Under the ‘free market’ regime introduced in 1984, regulatory controls on the financial system were lifted, state-sector spending was cut and public sector institutions were corporatized with a modus operandi that is now termed ‘speed politics’. Many academics, including Hiveman, were quick to see that education would be made to fit a corporate model too.

“It was recognized in the quieter corridors of academia that the working class were headed for a cerebral extinction”, lamented Hiveman as he stood in front of a wall of books in his office, which also occupy the parallel intellectual universe that is his brain. “So, those of us who cared in academia – and there were not many prepared to rock the political speed show – mustered as many among the sheople from the wider community as we could to figure out a plan”.

The first meeting, which took place on Halloween night 1987 at the Masonic Hotel in Devonport on Auckland’s North Shore, numbered a dismal 25 people. “Our marketing sucked. People thought we were tricky Freemasons colonizing genuine dissent”, said Hiveman with a wry smile.

Hiveman speaks in a way that learned people do when they have bounced back from that gravity feeling that comes from thinking they are the only one carrying the cares of the world on their shoulders. “Wrongly,” continued Hiveman, “it was decided that the middle-class, who dominated the meetings, would focus their dwindling resources on itself.”

After a few more months, this middle-class membership formed the haughty sounding Aotearoa Rich Reaction to support their kaupapa (or plan). This group, and an offshoot, would eventually have a hand in nurturing Yelich-O’Connor from her earliest years.

It’s telling that the trigger event for the meetings and ultimately the formation of Aotearoa Rich Reaction was the 1987 October Share Market Crash. Angry bourgeoise from Auckland North Shore suburbs formed the grassroots foundation after their forays into the stockmarket turned sour during the Crash of ’87.

Many had lost old family baches, Miami Vice style speed-boats and bikini lifestyles as they were forced to scramble assets to pay for their forays into financial speculation.

Hiveman says his former wife saw ‘opportunity’ in the crisis of the ’87 Sharemarket Crash’, and unbeknown to him quietly set about designing a business plan for what became Limelight.

The group has tried to re-brand itself with a politically correct veneer since the music video for ‘Royals’ laid-bare the mundane waste of youthful aspiration, even among the middle class. This re-branding has occurred amid recent raised awareness of child poverty on ‘the news’ in New Zealand, which has made it hard for Aotearoan parents to explain to their children why they do not appear to care.

To this end, Aotearoa Rich Reaction currently claims the primary trigger for its inception was anger at rising unemployment rates among the working class, particularly in the provinces, during the 1980s.

Back in 1988, a split occurred in Aotearoa Rich Reaction when Harry Hiveman’s marriage with the group’s co-chair, Cynthia Hiveman, hit rocks. Harry Hiveman was the other-half of the group’s chair.

In short, the couple split over the politics of money.

But, it was not so much the stress over a shortage of cash in the household. They were both professors at Auckland University. Dr. Harry Hiveman lectured in history. Dr. Cynthia Hiveman’s expertise was business organizational structures. Cynthia Hiveman had also bought stocks before the ’87 Sharemarket Crash.

The sticky issue for the Hiveman’s was the question of what was the appropriate form and use of money in a country that was increasingly being referred to as an ‘economy’. Harry Hiveman opposed debt-based money systems that dominate the world, wherein governments do not exercise a sovereign power to create money debt-free to support the political-economy.

Hiveman says governments the world-over have submitted to the coercion of international bankers, who have wielded their highly-networked secretive power structures to create financial and economic crises and wars. Hiveman advocated debt-free money, wherein public banks would control the quantity of cash and interest-free credit in relation to necessary political and economic activity.

Overlord rolled her eyes when she heard Hiveman’s vision, as though it were a scratchy sound recording from a fire-side radio chat. “Harry always went ‘high-brow’ with his visions of ‘political economy’”, said Overlord sardonically mimicking Hiveman’s rabbit ear gesture for technical terms and euphemisms. “None of us would be able to shop if he had his way”, chided Overlord.”

For Overlord, sound economics means people (presumably the middle class) being paid well, so that they have enough to live comfortably, save and invest in their own businesses. Overlord does not trust finance companies and the financial markets. Although, oddly, she owns three houses she doesn’t live in, despite the 1987 Share Market Crash precipitating the bust of a property market boom, albeit a commercial one.

Following the Hiveman’s marriage break-up, a rupture occurred in Aotearoa Rich Reaction. A break-away group was formed, called Web Underground, led by Cynthia. It was at this time that Cynthia Hiveman reverted to her family name, Overlord. Harry Hiveman remained involved in Aotearoa Rich Reaction for a short time, but left when he realized Cynthia ultimately controlled the group from within Web Underground’s network.

According to Hiveman, in 1998, Cynthia Overlord spotted Yelich-O’Connor when she was two years-old in a push-chair and was stunned by the look and feeling of intelligence in the toddler’s eyes. Apparently, Overlord said to Yelich-O’Connor’s mother, “I can tell by your girl’s eyes that she is very smart and gifted. Nurture her well.”

Proud parents: Father Vic O’Connor and mother Sonya Yelich watch their daughter, Ella Yelich-O’Connor, give her suppressed Grammy speech for Song of the Year, ‘Royals’.

Hiveman says Overlord followed Yelich-O’Connor and her perplexed mum to see where they lived and find out who they were. “A normal person would have struck up a conversation.”

An inner circle of the membership of Web Underground, led by Overlord, decided they wanted Yelich-O’Connor to be ‘Queen Bee’ of what would become known as Generation Y in Aotearoa, without her parents’ knowledge. Overlord denies this claim.

Media Bees: What did Lorde know and when Aotearoa Rich Reaction and Web Underground?

Pesky Media Bee: What did Lorde know about Aotearoa Rich Reaction and Web Underground? And when?

When Yelich-O’Connor returned to New Zealand from Los Angeles, I asked ‘Lorde’ whether her family has ties to Aotearoa Rich Reaction and Web Underground. ‘Lorde’ snapped, “Cynthia Hiveman is a stalker who lives a stupid fantasy.”

Hiveman says the break-away group, Web Underground, perceived that there needed to be a ‘Queen Bee’ to live the fantasy of a privileged upper class life. Their logic, according to Hiveman, was so that the next generation would have a leading figurehead to show them the importance of having good taste, which is a value that Aotearoa Rich Reaction claim on their website to have in abundance. Overlord’s company, Limelight, makes the same claim with its slogan, “Keeping good taste in fashion.”

While the media milieu gathered around Yelich-O’Connor at Auckland International Airport persisted in asking her inane ‘little country-big country’ questions about whether she got more of a buzz winning music awards in New Zealand or in USA America, the performer made a point of taking her shades off. Yelich-O’Connor rolled her eyes so much that many of the photos captured the whites of her eyes and prompted a social media frenzy, with captions such as “Return of Lorde of the Zombies”.

Yelich-O’Connor who, as her pop-persona Lorde, had implored the world to let her live the fantasy of being Queen Bee, yet again, during her performance of ‘Royals’ at the Grammy’s became visibly strained as she gathered her mental-buzz for the final push through media circus. “The blue sky day outside is a reminder that this world is worth fighting for. Since Planet Earth can’t speak a human language, artists need to communicate nature’s needs”, Yelich-O’Connor said witheringly. “Now please, return to your news’ hives”. The inane media pack left for their news hives. I rang Dr Harry Hiveman to clarify Lorde’s alleged special status..

Royal fantasy: Yelich-O'Connor, as her pop-persona Lorde, implored the world to let her live the fantasy of being Queen Bee, yet again, during her performance of ‘Royals’ at the Grammy’s

Royal fantasy: Yelich-O’Connor, as her pop-persona Lorde, implored the world to let her live the fantasy of being Queen Bee, yet again, during her performance of ‘Royals’ at the Grammies.

Professor Hiveman views Web Underground’s idea of a chosen ‘Queen Bee’ as a reworking of mythological elements from all the world’s major cultures and religions.

“The idea of choosing someone special is not dissimilar to the Roman Catholic Church’s plagiarizing of mythological elements from prior cultures to construct the myth that the legendary Christ figure was ‘God’ incarnated to teach humans how to live a virtuous life”, said Hiveman with a broad smile and shiny white teeth. “When you break it down, Web Underground, which has been headed by Cynthia since day one, wanted to elevate Ella so that all of the Gen Y’s could one day consume a vicarious salvation in the new global religion: cartel capitalism.”

“Ella was nurtured to keep asking ‘But, why?’ by this faction whose stronghold is in the North Shore suburb of Belmont. Ella’s win at her school’s talent show, Belmont Idol, at age 12, was in essence, part of a broader rivalry among the North Shore’s bourgeoise members of Aotearoa Rich Reaction. I found it creepy that she got so much attention after that competition”.

Ironically, Lorde’s curiosity to understand where New Zealand’s egalitarian spirit went led her to Hiveman.

Summer Class: Yelich-O'Connor’s drive to understand economic inequality led her to learn that the word 'class' has more than one meaning.

Making a Queen Bee go pop

“Ella came to see me before she wrote ‘Royals’ ”, the Auckland University professor said. He emphasized that he only knew Yelich-O’Connor’s parents as acquaintances and had not seen them “since last century”. Hiveman added with an impish grin, “She said she didn’t know of me at all, and hadn’t spoken to anyone about an inner feeling to find a ‘professor dude’. So, she followed her nose and found herself outside my office, and knocked after having made a wish she would find the right door.”

“Ella was very insistent that I teach her how it was that ‘free markets’ took hold in New Zealand,” said Hiveman. “At first, I set her up in the university library with Alistair Barry’s excellent documentaries, Someone Else’s Country[i] and In a Land of Plenty”.[ii]

She came back the next day and said, “Please professor dude, may I have some more mental-buzz.”

And that’s how I came to give her a one-on-one education in the Shock Doctrine Conspiracy orchestrated by key insiders of the North Atlantic Capitalist Class, which she alluded to her in Grammy speech”, said Hiveman.[iii] “She was my unofficial student of 2011,” he smiled proudly.

He recalled how she’d text him and he’d find her in the library with an array of open books spread across the desk, the floor and the couches. “She never cleaned up after herself. She didn’t care, and we didn’t care, she was on a different kind of buzz”, Hiveman pondered.

“One day I found her sitting on the library floor in a corner with a pile of books stacked around her like a beehive”, recalled Hiveman. “I could see through the hole in the top she had left so she could still see and breathe. Ella had an A3 pad with all these lines joining small boxes with names in them. She titled these sketches “Mental maps of how the world works”.

Evidently, Lorde’s mental maps were always patterned on a pyramid, to symbolize hierarchical power structures.

“It’s rare to see an artistically inspired person of her age take to critically studying the political economy of anywhere”, said Lorde’s mental mentor.

“Sadly,” continued Hiveman, “New Zealand isn’t an anomaly in the ‘free market’ era. Like everywhere else in the ‘developed world’, political apathy has taken hold. It’s achieved in subtle ways like trashy reality TV shows displacing the broadcast of documentaries critical of elite power.”

According to Hiveman, political apathy among the masses is the consequence of calculated planning.

As he reached for a book called “Imperial Brain Trust” on the shelf behind him, Hiveman explained, “A New York-based think-tank called the Council on Foreign Relations designed a blueprint called the ‘1980s project’.”[iv] He didn’t explain further. Instead, he opened the chapter and flicked through the pages that were heavily underlined in pencil and bookmarked with Monopoly game currency.

“Ella is one of the few of her generation to not only question neoliberal economics, but to study the roll-out of ‘free market economic treatments’”, Hiveman said without looking up from pages. The tone he deployed was not unlike a professor speaking proud of a graduating PhD student as a way to inspire a tardy undergrad to work harder. “If only all bourgeois kids came to university prepared with the education I gave Ella,” he said, peering up with a look at me that suggested he could see into my brain, and had found it’s contents wanting.

Imperial Brain Trust

Reading what Hiveman and Lorde have read, it is apparent that key players at the Council on Foreign Relations, a New York-based think-tank led by the super-rich banker David Rockefeller, strategized to transform the world through financial discipline.[v] This ‘discipline’ meted-out by key insiders from Wall Street and London banks involved orchestrating numerous financial crises around the world since the 1970s.[vi]

It turns out, the ‘1980s Project‘ was a plan developed in the 1970s to transform the world under a ‘free market’ economic framework. Their modus operandi would be to cause financial crises as a means to coerce governments to implement more ‘free market economic shock treatments’.

Underpinning this plan was an objective to foment political apathy worldwide on behalf of the North Atlantic capitalist class. The dominant capitalist coalitions of Europe and North America felt there was too much democracy being demanded by the 60s counter-cultural movements.[vii]

Before Lorde’s skin-blistering suppressed speech, the ordinary worker bees that sung along to ‘Royals’ were oblivious to what was required of them. But now, with its ‘gone viral’ status on the web, the Queen Bee has left them with no fantasies about what she wants of them. Find your balls: Lorde’s provocation to the world’s mass audience.

“Thank-you everyone soo much for giving a shit about our song, ‘Royals’, said Lorde as she finished her Grammy speech. “May you all find the balls to help construct a world based on resilient community, bona-fide freedom, and peace. To do that, we will need to redeploy the psychopaths that currently run the world to the planet’s prisons. Peace cannot happen with reconciliation. That was Nelson Mandela’s mistake.[viii] The first step to peace is justice firmly served.”

“Gen Y’ers now know”, said Hiveman, “if they are to achieve bona fide ‘freedom’ they will have to work collectively with those older and younger to dismantle the pyramid structures that support capitalism”.

“At the same time, worker bees of the world of all generations will need to theorize, test and transform the world with projects that embed local community resilience” wrote Hiveman on his blog, ‘Nectar and Stings’.

For a generation that has been conditioned to be brand-conscious consumers, it would seem Gen Y need to face their fear of going mental, lest it stops them from being more curious at that moment that their indoctrinated consumerist brains begin to sizzle.

Lorde:

Thankyou soo much everyone for making this song explode because this world is mental. (Laughter). Planet Earth is run by psychopaths that hide behind slick marketing, ‘freedom’ propaganda and ‘economic growth’ rhetoric,[1] while they construct a global system of corporatized totalitarianism.

As American journalist Chris Hedges has identified, a corporate totalitarian core thrives inside a fictitious democratic shell.[2] This core yields an ‘inverted’ totalitarian state that few recognize because it does not look like the Orwellian world of Nineteen Eighty-four.[3]

This corporate totalitarian core is spreading outward from America. Planet Earth is being rapidly militarized by the world’s major and significant states, including their police forces.[4] Meanwhile, state surveillance is becoming universal[5] and torture is outsourced to gulags.[6]

Can we not imagine that in past times, simple folk found it hard to work out exactly how they were being manipulated by the Royal monarchies, and the Papal monarchy, who claimed a ‘divine right to rule’? Ordinary people from classical times through to the demise of the Ancien Regime could not see how the rivalrous network of elites and oligarchs were linked, not least because the illiterate masses were indoctrinated to believe in their humble lot, to obey divinely-endorsed authority and to live in fear of damnation.

So, in today’s mental world, it should become clearer now that Planet Earth is ruled by super-wealthy people, who use their outrageous fortunes to steer the trajectories of whole societies for their own material and political gain.[7] These oligarchs are, in fact, colluding for economic gain and conspiring to augment more political power.[8] Armies of professional, political, religious and military elites serve them.[9 Together, they comprise a highly-networked transnational capitalist class that has been traced in studies by: Peter Phillips and Brady Osborne;[10] William K. Carroll;[11] David Rothkopf;[12] Daniel Estulin;[13] and Laurence H. Shoup and William Minter.[14]

As Canadian journalist Naomi Klein has argued in her book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, ‘free markets’ were slickly marketed in the 1980s and 1990s with the idea that they would deliver individual freedom and prosperity for all.[15] Klein also wrote that the use of military violence to facilitate the spread of ‘free markets’ in the field-testing stage from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s has continued into the 2000s. Her view is supported in Eugene Jarecki’s documentary Why We Fight, which compellingly showed that America fights wars to make the world secure for its corporations.[16] So, get reading and viewing! (Lorde giggles and half the audience rises to their feet applauding. The other half remain fixed in their chairs. Some reluctantly clap).

Thankyou soo much everyone for giving a shit about our song, ‘Royals’. May you all find the balls to help construct a world based on resilient community, bona-fide freedom, and peace. To do that, we will need to redeploy the psychopaths that currently run the world to the planet’s prisons.[17] Peace cannot happen with reconciliation. That was Nelson Mandela’s mistake.[18] The first step to peace is justice firmly served.
